Things to Prepare Before Starting

Personal Section Name, address, and demographic information.
Academic Section Transcript, GPA, and other academic information.
Financial Need (optional) A financial need statement (double spaced, no more than 1 page) that addresses your financial needs for the upcoming semester. FAFSA data on income and expected contribution for students and parents.
References Email addresses for 3 references who have agreed to recommend you.
Personal Statement No more than 3 double-spaced pages in which you address in this order:
1. Autobiography - Provide a brief personal history (1-2 paragraphs).
2. Desire to Work in Education - Describe your interest in the profession of education (whether teaching, counseling, psychology, administration, curriculum, research, etc.), including your educational goals and professional philosophy.
3. Justification - State the reasons why you are a qualified candidate for a scholarship and how you will be impacted if chosen.
4. Volunteer Efforts - Describe your involvement in the community, university and service.
Essays (optional) Some scholarships have a unique essay prompt for which you may submit an essay.


If you are awarded a scholarship, please be aware that your application information may be shared with the scholarship donor.
